THE CREATOR
Maison G is the latest company founded by Sudhir Gupta, whose journey began with a humble entry-level cleaning position in a perfume shop on Canal Street in NYC. It was there that he saw his first factice, an oversized Nina Ricci L’Air du Temps perfume display bottle with intricately intertwined frosted glass doves atop it. This beautiful object enchanted him and sparked a lifelong passion for rare, hard-to-find perfumes.
Gupta began buying and selling these perfumes out of his house, plowing his profits into the acquisition of more factices. Despite opening a retail shop in Westchester County, New York, in the middle of the Great Recession and eventually having to close it, Gupta remained determined to pursue his passion.
He pivoted to wholesale fragrances and worked tirelessly to build a thriving enterprise that would become renowned for discontinued and hard-to-find fragrances. His company, Eau de Luxe, grew exponentially, earning a spot on the Inc. magazine 5000 list for five consecutive years from 2014 to 2018. Gupta received the rare honor of being named to the Inc. 5000 Honor Roll, a testament to his dedication to exceeding customer expectations and delivering exceptional products and services.
